The USC Upward Bound Program was one of the first Upward Bound Programs that began in 1964. Today the program serves over 100 students providing academic and enrichment services that enable them to not only gain admission to, but graduate from a post-secondary institution. This summer USCUB students participated in a social media research course where they learned the history behind social media, proper use of social media, and how to use it as a communication tool for both personal and business purposes. One of the projects they produced was their 50th Anniversary Video celebrating all of the ways that Upward Bound has not only helped them academically, but socially as well. Check it out!

The University of Virginia’s Upward Bound Program celebrates 50th years of success stories with our commemorative video entitled ‘I Am Upward Bound’. The University of Virginia’s Upward Bound Program is currently participating in the Council for Opportunity in Education’s video competition, voting ends on August 11th. Please support our efforts to promote our video (and Upward Bound) by viewing and liking our student produced film.

As we celebrate 50 years of TRiO Upward Bound Programs – via video this summer, our students worked extremely hard to translate and communicate the social and academic impact experienced through the TRiO Upward Bound Math Science program at Delaware Tech’s Wilmington campus. Our ultimate goal is to share this tangible by-product of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Lyndon B. Johnson’s creation of the Higher Education Act with the President of the United States – the House, the Senate and anyone else who is willing to view and agree that TRiO programs work!
With the support and direction of our lobbying party, the Council for Opportunity in Education, this is our way of applying real life stories to the data – something we’re unable to do in an annual performance report.Views on YouTube are nice, but a “LIKE” will take this message further.
Viewing makes you an audience member but “LIKING” makes you a supporter. Spread the word and amplify our voice.
